3 Used SUVs For Under $25,000
If you’re looking for a full-size SUV, compact crossover, or something else, you might find yourself on a budget. Even if that is the case, there are plenty of SUVs out there that you can purchase for under $25,000. That way, you don’t have to break the bank in order to make an automotive improvement. These three SUVs, including the 2017 Toyota RAV4 and 2017 Subaru Outback, might be best for under $25k.
Should you buy a used SUV?
New SUVs are pretty expensive, so buying used can help you save some money. If you do the proper research, check the vehicle’s history, and keep on maintenance, a used SUV can be a solid way to get more room. Although the used market is still experiencing some high prices, it is possible to find an SUV for under $25,000. And that is reflected by these three models.
3. 2017 Toyota RAV4
The Toyota RAV4 has been a consistent seller for Toyota. As a compact crossover, it seats up to five passengers and boasts some rugged looks. In 2017, Toyota did make Toyota Safety Sense standard for all RAV4 models. And that should help with overall driver confidence.
You can find this SUV with all-wheel drive. Although, it is worth noting that a RAV4 with AWD will be more expensive than a front-wheel drive model. Over all, Toyota is known to produce reliable vehicles. And the RAV4 is no exception. This makes it an ideal SUV to buy used.
2. 2017 Subaru Outback
In the SUV world, Subaru is pretty well regarded. The 2017 Subaru Outback comes standard with 8.7-inches of ground clearance and AWD. So if you want a used AWD SUV, it should certainly be on your radar. The Outback is a solid pick if you lead an active lifestyle, but it also has room for family.

This year of the Outback still boasts modern safety features, and depending on mileage, you can likely find it for under $25,000. According to Edmunds, this SUV has excellent visibility. And you can even do some light off-roading with it. At the same time, the BOXER engine can feel a little lackluster at times. But, if you want an SUV, performance might not be that high on your list of requirements.
1. 2014 Chevy Tahoe
Some folks need a full-size SUV, and that’s exactly what the Chevy Tahoe is. For years, the Tahoe has been one of the more popular SUVs. It can fit up to nine people, making it ideal for those with a larger family. Plus, it can tow nearly 9,000 pounds when properly equipped. Another perk is its 108.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front seats.

With a vehicle from General Motors during this era, you might be making some sacrifices on things like interior quality. Even so, that should not be a dealbreaker. If you want one for under $25k, you might have to get a Tahoe with 100,000 miles or more on the odometer. But with proper care, these vehicles can pack on the miles.
