For a keen traveler like me, Morocco didn’t feel very welcoming as compared to the other destinations like Bhutan and Cambodia which I have visited in the past. In Morocco, there is a slight European dominant culture despite being a North African country. Though the hospitality here is quite impressive as per my experience. Our hotel staff and the locals were quite cordial and courteous. The major barrier here is the language like French, Spanish and Arabic are predominantly spoken. Apart from that hospitality in this country is very impressive and professional as throughout our trip the staff of our hotels ensured that we enjoy a comfortable stay.

2. Amazing Shopping Experience

Our shopping experience in Morocco was quite fascinating as every place surrounding it was abundant of unique souvenirs to buy. While we were exploring the shopping places, Fes fascinated us more than any place in Morocco. This place had a wide variety of authentic carpets, silks, cutlery, spices and handicrafts. While Marakkesh had a vast variety of souvenirs like magnets, keychains at a very budget price. And this was not just that, while we arrived at Essouria we were quite surprised to see a wide range of oils and fragrances which are originally made here.

3. Marvellous Architecture

Morocco is known for its Atlas mountains, Sahara Desert, medieval medinas and modern skyscrapers. And we were very excited to explore the heritage of this country which was enclosed around the ancient architectures of Rabat, streets painted blue at Chefchaouen and a glimpse of magnificent Medina’s at Fes. Beyond shopping, we realized that there are a lot of other things to do in Morocco which includes exploring these magnificent medinas.

4. Indulge Into A Moroccan Cooking Class

While the architectures left us completely baffled there was something unusual in Morocco which was waiting for us to be explored. After a long and serene drive to Marrakech, I and my husband indulged into a Moroccan cooking class and tried our hands on making something using Tagine and authentic Moroccan ingredients which was backed up by a tour to the community baking centre.

5. A Hot Air Balloon Ride

We felt like the unusual experiences at Morocco is never going to end. After indulging into an exciting cooking class at Marrakech, another highlight of our Morocco honeymoon was the hot air balloon ride. To take the ride we had to start an early day at Essouria where we enjoyed a romantic moment overlooking the Atlas mountains. Later we also went to explore the Argan oil co-operative where we took a tour to understand the process of refining Argan oil for skin products as well as cooking.

Not just this, being an ardent fan of Game Of Thrones it was quite a surprise to feel the reel life in reality. While we were already overwhelmed after the hot air balloon ride, there was something more waiting for us at Essouria. After all the sightseeing we went to explore the monument where the episode of “Astapor” was shot. It really gave us chills while we also learned about behind the scenes story.

Tips For The Travelers Planning Their Morocco Honeymoon

  • Do carry water while going out to keep you hydrated as there is barely any water available in the streets.
  • Tipping is considered as etiquette in this country, so make sure to offer a tip to bell boy, waiter etc.
  • Carry adapters while roaming around the cities, there are different kind of electric sockets at different places.
  • Carry some warm clothes as the temperature fluctuates rapidly here.
  • Avoid wearing short and skimpy clothes as despite having a heavy influx of European culture, the locals are a mix of African and Arab origin.

Our Incredible Honeymoon Experience With TravelTriangle

I would rate my experience with Travel Triangle extremely pleasant and one of the best till date. The whole idea of customizing the trip according to our preferences within our budget is the biggest USP. There were timely follow-ups to ensure our documentation and bookings were done in time. Our tour operator “Pick Your Trail” was extremely agile and complied to all our special requests. We had a telegram group where our next day itinerary and updates were posted and all our queries were attended too. Even post the trip, there was an effort made to understand how our experience was. The Pick Your Trail tour operator partner in Morocco was “S Tours”. They were extremely professional, always on time and gave us some really top-notch recommendations for food. Our chauffer – Shakiar ensured we were comfortable during our long drives, kept us engaged with his interesting experiences, were taken care of during our walking tours and also clicked some of the best pictures of us on the trip.
