What should they buy? Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst at DealNews.com, joins GOBankingRates to share which Costco food items consumers need to add to their carts. Here are the best Thanksgiving food deals at Costco.
Vegetable Platter With Ranch Dip
Need an easy appetizer for guests to munch on before the big meal? Set out this spread of 4 pounds worth of broccoli, carrots, tomatoes and snap peas with a peppercorn ranch dip.
It’s an easy platter to prep — simply open up the package — and it has an easy-on-the-eyes price tag of roughly $13.

Antipasto Platters
Ramhold said there are typically a few different kinds to choose from at Costco with varying sizes and meat selections. The platter you pick depends on what fits your taste and budget.
“Look for platters like a Veroni package with five different meats to be around $13 for 12 ounces, while a Daniele 16-ounce pack with three varieties of meat will be around $12.50,” Ramhold said. “A two-pack of 24-ounce Fratelli Beretta Antipasto with Prosciutto is about $14.”
Do you want just one type of meat? Try looking for items like Costco’s 12-ounce of Citterio prosciutto di parma for around $12, or a 32-ounce of Columbus Italian dry salami for around $17.
Cello Cheese Variety Pack
Costco shoppers can pick up 2 pounds of cracker-cut cheese slices in four different varieties for just over $14.
“All you have to do is open this up and set it out, or arrange them on a tray with crackers if you want to make a festive board,” Ramhold said.
Dips
There are usually a couple to choose from at Costco, including spinach artichoke, parmesan or caramelized onion with roasted garlic dip.
Ramhold recommends looking for these to be around 31-ounce containers for around $10 to $11 in price. Just like the vegetable platter, they require little to no prep work. “All you have to do is pop them open and set out something for dipping, so they make excellent appetizers or light sides before the actual Thanksgiving dinner.”
Butterball Boneless Antibiotic Free Turkey Breast
Time to meet the star of Thanksgiving: the turkey.
While this isn’t one of the cheaper Thanksgiving items — this turkey is around $20 for just under 5 pounds of meat — it is among one of the healthier choices for small families. The Butterball turkey breast is boneless, as per its name, and free of antibiotics, added hormones and steroids. If you have a small gathering planned, Ramhold recommends this turkey as a solid choice, especially for families that have trouble finding smaller turkeys at other stores.
King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Need some traditional dinner rolls to go with your meal? Pick up a bulk package of King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. Ramhold said Costco has a two-pack of 16 rolls, so 32 rolls total cost around $7.20 or so depending on your area.
It’s also a purchase you can make early and not worry about the bread getting stale quickly. “Because these are more shelf-stable than the fresh baked breads in the bakery, you can pick them up long before the holiday and shouldn’t have to worry about them going stale in a short amount of time.”
Sparkling Apple Cider
Time to make a toast before digging in! At Costco, shoppers can get four 25.4-fluid-ounce bottles of sparkling apple cider for less than $13.
Sparkling apple cider is a festive win-win for everyone at the dinner table. Kids can enjoy this fancy drink without defaulting to an alternative like soda and so can adults, especially any who don’t want to partake in alcoholic beverages.
Kirkland Signature Pumpkin Pie
Onto the desserts! While you can still make your own pumpkin pie, Ramhold recommends picking up one of Costco’s pumpkin pies. These pies weigh just over 3 1/2 pounds and are less than $7. Pair it with some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and dessert is served for everyone.
Kirkland Signature Double Crust Apple Pie
Sometimes it’s nice to have an alternative to pumpkin pie or increase your overall dessert variety at the dinner table. This apple pie runs for about $16 at Costco and according to Ramhold, it’s a massive pie.
“It’ll feed a crowd, and I can personally vouch for how delicious it is. Add some vanilla ice cream and maybe some caramel sauce if you’re feeling fancy, and dessert is done.”
