Avondale Staple Caroline’s Aloha Bar (Voodoo) to Close in Two Weeks
Right as the rest of Charleston was getting ready for a busy Halloween weekend, Avondale establishment Caroline’s Aloha Bar (formerly Voodoo Lounge) announced its impending closure. The post read:
Thank you times a million Charleston for 18 Amazing years at Voodoo and Caroline’s! We’ve appreciated your continued support over these years! It’s our last huzzah, so come see us these next two weeks!
The bar at 15 Magnolia Road is known to many as Voodoo Lounge, but in 2020, the owners, Jen and Mike Kulick, decided to rebrand the space as the more family-friendly Caroline’s Aloha Bar after the sudden death of bar manager Caroline Smith-Adams, who helmed Voodoo for 15 years.
Voodoo was known for its giant tiki drinks and tater tots, which also became staples of Caroline’s. The bar’s lat night is Saturday, November 12. No word yet of what will become of the property or if the bar will relocate.
