Burger King is to open a fast-food restaurant at one of Wales’ biggest retail schemes

The fast food giant has signed a 10-year lease with commercial property and investment company LCP for a 1,855 sq ft store at 23 North Walk, which forms part of the Cwmbran Centre, in Cwmbran.

Fit out has already begun with an expected opening date of November. Around 30 jobs will be created.

Alex Williams, LCP asset manager, said: “Burger King is a welcome addition to the food and beverage offer at Cwmbran Centre and it comes on the back of a number of new tenants bringing their brands here, increasing the range and breadth of shops that shoppers can enjoy.”

Agents acting for LCP were Phil Gwyther at EJ Hales and Will Thomas and James Williamson at KLM.

Cwmbran Centre

The shopping centre, which extends to 740,000 sq ft and was previously known as Cwmbran Shopping Centre, was acquired earlier this year by LCP in a £138m deal that also included the Galleries shopping centre in Sunderland, from M&G Real Estate.

Cwmbran Centre has 180 retail units, anchored by a 100,000 sq ft Asda store. It also has a 48,000 sq ft Primark outlet.

Other brands include JD Sports, River Island, Superdrug, New Look and Deichmann It recently signed up as signed up Geek Retreat, H&T Pawnbrokers, USA Toys, and Star Sports Bet as new tenants.
