How to Make Cobb Salad
Before starting, gather up all the ingredients you’ll need for your salad and salad dressing!
This recipe uses grilled chicken and bacon, but you can use any kinds of chicken you have.
Grill chicken and cook bacon ahead of time.
Cobb Salad Dressing
Step 1: Prepare your Homemade Cobb Salad Dressing. Combine all ingredients except Olive Oil in small bowl and whisk until combined.
Slowly drizzle in Olive Oil whisking constantly until dressing comes together.
Step 2: Cut up lettuce and tomaotes and add the lettuce layer to large platter or bowl.
Step 3: Slice chicken and bacon and add to you platter or bowl, on top of your lettuce.
Step 4: Clean and slice your hard boiled eggs and the rest of your vegetables and add on top of lettuce.
Step 6: Add blue cheese crumbles and serve immediately with the cobb salad dressing you already made.
Alternative To Chicken
If you do not have chicken on hand or want something else, go right ahead and reach for chopped deli meats, leftover shredded turkey, etc.
You do not have to use chicken if you have other meats on hand.
Or go meatless if you prefer to skip it.
How to Boil Hard Boiled Eggs Perfectly
Place eggs in cold water in a pan, place on stove and turn on high. Bring your water to a full boil.
Remove from heat and place lid on your pot and set a timer for 13 minutes.
At the 13 minute mark remove eggs from water and place in an ice bath.
This is important to help stop the eggs from cooking. Allow the eggs to cool down and then remove, and peel!
If you prefer softer eggs don’t cook eggs as long, or if you want a firmer egg to go all the way up to 15 minutes.
Storing Leftover Salad Dressing
If you don’t plan to eat all your salad dressing right away, place in an airtight container.
The dressing can store for up to a week in the fridge.
Just give it a good shake or stir, taste test then pour over your salad and enjoy.
Best Lettuce To Use For Salads
Go ahead and reach for any salad leafy greens you would like.
From spinach to iceberg lettuce and all things in between.
Spinach, romaine, iceberg, or do a blend of greens to add a variety of texture and flavor to the salad.
Main Dish or Side
Not sure if you serve this salad as a main or side dish?
You can do either!
It is a heartier salad so it is great for serving as a main dish.
But you can also do smaller portions of salad and pair it with dinner for a delicious side dish salad.
The choice is totally up to you.
