Start by removing the mozzarella balls from the liquid and then drain it on a paper towel lined plate. Set aside.

Cut both of the cheddar cheeses into ½”-¾” cubes and set aside.

Cut a star out of the havarti cheese by using a 2-3” star-shaped cookie cutter.

Then, tear the prosciutto into small pieces. Set aside.

Remove all of the stems from your grapes.

Next, set the pretzels vertically at the bottom of a large platter or board to create the trunk of the tree.

Lay a few sprigs of rosemary horizontally at the top of the pretzels to create the base of your tree.

Add a slightly smaller row of yellow cheddar right above the rosemary. Continue with the remaining ingredients, prosciutto, raspberries, mozzarella balls, olives, salami, white cheddar, grapes and pecans ensuring each row is slightly smaller than the one before to form a triangular tree.

Add the cheese star on top of the tree.

Add small sprigs of rosemary around the tree to decorate it.

The tray is best served immediately.

Pair up with a nice variety of breads and crackers.

Serve up some balsamic vinaigrette if you are feeling fancy.

Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board

Yield: 6-8 Prep Time: 20 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes

A step-by-step guide on how to make a Christmas tree charcuterie board with a variety of cheeses, prosciutto, vegetables, olives. Decorate with rosemary.

Ingredients

  • 12-15 pretzel sticks
  • 4-5 sprigs rosemary
  • 8 ounces yellow cheddar
  • 4 ounces prosciutto
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 4 ounces mozzarella balls, pearl (perlini) size
  • ⅔ cup pitted kalamata olives
  • 4 ounces salami
  • 4 ounces white cheddar
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • ½ cup pecan halves
  • 1 slice havarti cheese

Instructions

  1. Remove mozzarella balls from the liquid and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
  2. Cut the cheddar cheeses into ½”-¾” cubes and set aside.
  3. Cut a star from the havarti cheese using a 2-3” star-shaped cookie cutter.
  4. Tear the prosciutto into small pieces and set aside.
  5. Remove the stems from the grapes.
  6. Create the “tree “trunk” by setting the pretzels vertically at the bottom of a large platter or board.
  7. Lay 2-3 sprigs of rosemary horizontally at the top of the pretzels to create the bottom of the tree.
  9. Add the cheese star on top of your tree.
  10. Decorate your tree by adding small sprigs of rosemary.
  11. Serve along with breads and crackers.

Notes

  • The ingredient quantities will vary depending on the size of the platter or board used for assembly. Keep any unused ingredients in the refrigerator and replenish the board as needed.
  • The recipe for this Christmas tree charcuterie board is very flexible. Feel free to change out the cheeses, meats, fruit or nuts to anything that sounds good to you. If you only have a small amount of one of the ingredients, use that closer to the top of the tree. Use ingredients you have larger quantities of at the bottom of the tree.
  • You can easily make the tree vegetarian by omitting the meat and adding in additional cheese, fruit, nuts or olives.
  • I like to drain the mozzarella balls prior to assembly to minimize the amount of moisture that seeps out onto the board. I like the look of the pearl (perlini) size mozzarella balls, but any size can be used.
  • The charcuterie board should not be left out at room temperature for any longer than two hours.
  • The charcuterie board can be made up to two hours ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to serve. Wrap the board tightly in plastic wrap before refrigerating so the cheese does not absorb any of the fridge odors.
  • If you plan to make the board more than two hours in advance, remove the pretzel sticks and store them in an airtight container. Add the pretzels back in place right before serving.
  • Disassemble any leftovers after serving and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If the board has been sitting at room temperature for longer than two hours, dispose of any leftovers.
