This hearty soup would go so perfectly with crusty bread or a cheese sandwich. Sometimes, we just love a good grilled cheese, and having a warm soup to dunk it in, makes it so much better. This easy soup recipe starts by cooking diced onions and minced garlic in oil. Then add one head of chopped cabbage and enough water to just cover the cabbage. Season will dried basil. Cover the pot and allow to cook for 30 minutes. Then season with salt and pepper and add 3 cups of your favorite tomato sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
He serves this beautiful soup with freshly grated parmesan cheese on top. Yummy! And if you’re making this dish for a vegetarian, just leave the cheese off and you’ll have a meal for everyone.
