Free and cheap places for kids to eat - including Pizza Hut, Ikea and Prezzo
Millions of parents across the country will be on the lookout for cheap ways to take the kids out to eat.
More than half of low-income mums and dad (52%) have gone hungry in order to be able to afford to feed their children.
This is according to research commissioned by Crockpot, which is working with food poverty charity FareShare.
The poll of 1,050 families found that more than a third (39%) have felt stressed about putting meals on the table every day.
A number of supermarkets and restaurants are running deals that may offer a saving grace for struggling mums and dads.
Here is a list of the best offers to look out for from this month onwards.
Asda
Asda is allowing kids to eat for £1
Kids can eat for just £1 at all Asda cafes across England and Wales until early January
No minimum adult spend is needed to benefit from the offer, which will be on all day, every day.
Children will be able to get their hands on a £1 hot or cold meal, depending on availability.
Morrisons
Children under 16 can eat for free at Morrisons cafes nationwide when an adult meal worth at least £4.99 is purchased.
A kids meal comes with a piece of fruit and Tropicana kids orange juice, apple drink, or bottle of water.
Tesco
Supermarket cafes often have offers on kids meals
Kids will be able to eat free in all Tesco cafes in Wales between October 31 and November 4.
The offer is only open to Clubcard holders and parents will still have to spend 60p or more to claim one free kids meal worth up to £3.25.
Prezzo
Until next Monday (October 31) kids under ten can enjoy a free three-course meal at Prezzo.
This offer is available to O2 Priority customers and only one code can be used per customer per week.
Further details can be found on the O2 Priority website.
Pizza Hut
Some restaurants are giving big meals away for free
Pizza Hut is offering its Mega Monster Meal, usually £7.99, to children aged 12 and under free of charge until October 31.
But you’ll have to be an O2 Priority member to benefit.
The meal includes a kid’s main, a side, a drink, including bottomless soft drinks, an unlimited salad and a dessert.
It also means kids can use Pizza Hut’s infamous Ice Cream Factory and fill up their own bowls with soft dairy ice cream – plus a choice of toppings, sauces, and sweets.
The reward can only be used once a week this month, and one code can be used per bill.
Ikea
Children eating at Ikea can get their hands on a tomato pasta and soft drink for just 95p.
The offer will slash 70% off the original price, which is £2.20 for the pasta and £1 for the drink.
Other kids meals, including vegetable nuggets with chips and peas, can also be picked up for just £1.50 with fruit and a refillable drink included.
The offer will be every day from 11am across all IKEA stores, and will run until next year.
Frankie & Benny’s
Frankie & Benny’s in Northern Ireland & Wales have deals running until November
Frankie & Benny’s in Northern Ireland & Wales is letting adults eat free from October 31 to November 4.
But there’s a catch – they’ll need to bring a child under 11 with them to the restaurant.
This is to help parents tackle rising costs and give them a well-deserved break over the holiday.
Dishes include a margarita pizza, Bolognese pasta, arrabbiata pasta, cheeseburger and the classic dog (excluding Northern Ireland).
