The record run took place on October 6 at the Bosch Research Campus in Renningen, Germany.

An all-electric single-seater racecar has set a new Guinness world record for the fastest accelerating 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time by an EV at 1.461 seconds.

The electric racecar was built by GreenTeam – a 20-student team from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. The racecar weighs in at just 145 kg, thanks to the use of carbon fibre. When combined with the 241 BHP all-wheel-drive electric powertrain, it pulls 2.5G of peak acceleration.

The record run took place on October 6 at the Bosch Research Campus in Renningen, Germany. This was the second run after technical issues forced the students to cancel their first run earlier on September 29. The all-electric racecar from GreenTeam beat the record of 1.513 seconds previously held by Swiss-based AMZ Racing Team.
