Glossary of low carbon fuels terms launched
A new glossary of terms to help clarify and focus the debate around renewable fuels has been launched by the Renewable Transport Fuel Association (RTFA). Supported by Zemo Partnership, SMMT and UKPIA, the glossary comprises 47 terms for liquid fuels and 12 for gaseous fuels.
There are many different low carbon fuels, and this glossary aims to bring clarity and widen understanding of the subject matter.
The organisations that have worked together to produce the glossary will promote it to their members and wider stakeholder groups.
Speaking about the glossary, Andy Eastlake, Zemo Partnership’s Chief Executive, said: “Renewable, low carbon fuels have a critical role to play in the UK’s transition to net zero.
“Clear and consistent communication is a vital building block, so we are very pleased to have contributed to this glossary which will help to raise awareness and improve understanding about renewable fuels.”
Gaynor Hartnell, Chief Executive of the RTFA said: “If we are to communicate the numerous benefits of the fuels our members produce, it’s imperative that people understand what we’re talking about.”
