Expert Tips for making this Moist Honey Cake Recipe
- Don’t overmix the batter! Just stir till everyone is combined – that’s it! If you stir too much, the batter will bake to be tough and lose some of the moistness to the cake.
- If you want to leave out the coffee, you can. It’s a great flavor to add to the cake, but it’s not one that will make or break the cake.
Can you add toppings to a honey cake?
Great question. Typically, this honey cake recipe is served without any type of topping on it. But if you want toppings, add toppings! Drizzling some extra honey on top would be a super sweet idea!
How long does honey cake last in the fridge?
As long as you store this Russian honey cake in the fridge in an airtight container, it should stay fresh for up to 7 days! (although, I highly doubt that leftovers last that long!)
Should honey cake be refrigerated?
Yes, I highly recommend that you keep your honey cake recipe stored in the fridge. This will keep it as fresh as possible for as long as possible!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s SO moist
- The flavor and sweetness is unique to other cakes
- Leftovers last for several days without ruining the texture of the cake
Can you freeze honey cake?
This cake recipe is meant to be eaten fresh. While you can freeze it, I find that having it in the fridge for the week of time and eating it during that timeframe is the way to go.
