Gallery TV Wall
Turn your television into a work of art by surrounding it with framed art or photographs. The asymmetrical arrangement of this TV wall by @our.home.abroad looks eclectic yet harmonious.
Because TVs are rectangular, they seamlessly blend with the frames into one beautiful gallery wall. If you own a Samsung Frame TV you can even display artwork when the TV is off, making the illusion even more effective.
Minimalist TV Wall
To recreate this chic TV wall by @designwithalyssa, embrace the big black rectangle rather than fight it. A TV might look jarring in an all-white room, so she created visual balance by adding other black elements like the coffee table and sofa cushions. The floating shelf with pared back accessories adds interest without cluttering the wall.
Tongue-and-Groove TV Wall
Install tongue-and-groove paneling on the wall before hanging the TV. This adds texture and creates a feature-wall focal point.
After installing the paneling on this TV wall by @hausofcruze, they painted it a soft sage green color; try Aganthus Green by Benjamin Moore for a similar look. For accessories, add some greenery. Houseplants make everything better!
DIY Built-In TV Wall
Built-in shelving and cabinets painted a dark, bold green make this TV wall by @sandstoneview an absolute stunner.
Vertical wood slats make the TV alcove make a gorgeous feature rather than an eyesore. A mix of open and closed storage is a great idea for a TV wall so you can hide unsightly electronics and display decorative accessories.
TV Wall With Rustic Shelving
If you lack the budget or space for a media cabinet, hang shelves around your TV instead, as seen here by @interiors.by.bec. The rustic wood shelving and plants create a more organic space, making the black TV more palatable to the eye. With open shelving there’s less opportunity to tuck things away, so be sure to hide TV cords for the best look.
Reclaimed Wood TV Wall
Hanging the TV above the fireplace is a common location that works well because the shape of the opening balances the look.
To elevate the idea even more, install reclaimed wood to the fireplace, like in this beautiful living room by @shannontateinteriors. The light wood provides a welcome contrast to the black TV and fireplace and brings a lovely natural element to the overall room design.
DIY TV Frame
Make a DIY wood frame for your TV. This one from @kristinmariehome adds warmth and makes it look more like artwork.
Here’s how to make your own: Cut 1-by-2-in. pine boards to the length and height of your TV then cut the corners at 45-degree angles. With wood glue, affix the corners together, keep them that way with corner clamps and let them dry overnight. Fill any gaps with wood filler, then sand and stain.
Modern LED TV Wall
Believe it or not, this high-impact modern TV wall from @Robinsons.Reno was a DIY project made with medium-density fiberboard (MDF), closely spaced vertical wood battens, LED strip lighting and cabinets from IKEA! You can see some of the process here. A feature wall like this highlights your TV so it becomes a centerpiece instead of a distraction.
Board-and-Batten TV Wall
Traditional board-and-batten paneling is another DIY-friendly way to dress up your TV wall. This one from @leojoseph.b looks polished and elegant while providing an interesting backdrop for the TV. Finish the look with a simple media cabinet and decorative accessories.
