Halloween is here!
While you’re feasting on pumpkin soup and all forms of sugar from trick or treating, make sure to schedule in some on-theme snacks, too.
I’ve got you covered, with recipes for creepy crumpet pizzas, ghostly peppers, and witches’ brooms.
Not only do they look wonderfully spooky, they also taste great – and are easy enough to make that you can get the kids involved in the prep.
Here’s how to make these Halloween treats.
Creepy crumpet pizzas
Ingredients:
- Crumpets
- Marinara sauce
- Mozarella cheese
- Corn
- Black olives
Method:
- Toast the crumpet and top with tomato sauce
- Sprinkle cheese and corn on top then put under the grill
- Cut olives in half – one half forms the body of the spider, the other can be cut into legs

Ghostly peppers
Ingredients:
- Baby sweet peppers
- Egg (whisked)
- Cheese (grated)
- Candy eyes
Method:
- Cut peppers in half and fill with whisked egg
- Sprinkle cheese on top and place in the oven for seven minutes until the egg is cooked and cheese is golden
- Place candy eyes on the peppers to complete the look
Witches’ brooms
Ingredients:
- Think bread sticks
- Cheese strings
- Chives
Method:
- Pull a cheese string 1/3 of the way to resemble a broom brush. Cut it so there is 1.5cm left on top.
- Make a hole (I use a chopstick). Slide in the bread stick and tie with a chive.
