Make Mother's Day Special With 3 Natural Bath Salts
DIY Bath Salts
Bath salts are one of my favorite things to DIY. They’re super simple to make and totally customizable! A leisurely soak with bath salts not only gives your body a much-needed boost of magnesium…it also helps you relax by easing stiff muscles and achy joints! And who could use a relaxing soak more than the hardworking moms in our lives?

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, so I put together a list of 3 different homemade bath salt blends that would be perfect to give as a Mother’s Day gift. You can also use this list as to spark your creativity, and come up with your very own custom bath salts! Don’t be afraid to experiment with different essential oils, herbs, flowers, colors, and other ingredients. (And be sure to share your creative bath salt concoctions with us in the comments!) 🙂

Rainbow Bath Salts
Ingredients:
- Epsom salt
- Food coloring
- Glass jars
- Lavender essential oil
- Plastic zipper bags or bowls for mixing
DIY Bath Salts
Directions:
First you’ll need to decide how many colors you want your finished bath salt to have. I decided to keep things relatively simple, so I only used 3 colors.
Once you know how many colors you’ll use, gather that many small bowls or ziplock bags. Add a scoop of Epsom salt to each container along with 2 drops of food coloring and 1 drop of essential oil (if desired).
Mix each container of epsom salt until the color is evenly distributed. Finally, use a spoon to scoop the colored Epsom salt into your container in even layers. Beautiful!

Homemade Rose Milk Bath
Ingredients:
- Red soap coloring (or food coloring)
- Rose essential oil (optional)
bath salts
Directions:
Add the Epsom salt and coloring (if desired) to a small bowl and mix until the Epsom salt is a uniform pink color. Then add the powdered milk, rose petals, and 5-7 drops of rose essential oil and stir well. (If you don’t have rose essential oil, you can substitute another floral oil like lavender or chamomile.)

When you’re done mixing, transfer the milk bath mixture to a bottle or sachet. Finish it off with a pretty gift tag.
