MIROS ranks 70mai dashcams as the best in Malaysia in new CamScore Programme
The 70mai A800S is the best dashcam in Malaysia according to the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety and Research (MIROS). The A800S scored 4.59 out of 5.0 in MIROS’ new CamScore Programme, putting it in the top spot 40 dashcams that were evaluated in the same programme.
The CamScore Programme, also known as the Dashcam Safety Score Card Programme, is a new initiative jointly created by MIROS and CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM). The purpose of the programme is to guide car owners in picking out the best dashcam for their vehicles.
MIROS did not get into specifics on how the dashcams were evaluated, the institute only mentioned that the dashcams were evaluated based on three aspects: basic features, advanced features, and, if available, ADAS feature.
Out of 40 dashcams that were evaluated, five models scored five stars, three of which were from 70mai, one from DDPAI, and one from Thinkware. The top two models, the 70mai A800S and 70mai Pro Plus+ A500S each scored 4.59 out of a full score of 5.00.
Other than that, 15 models scored four stars in the evaluation, while 19 models scored three stars. Only one model scored two stars in the programme.
Dashcams have now become an essential device for vehicles, there is, however, yet to be an official evaluation to rank the dashcams that are on sale in Malaysia.
The introduction of CamScore Programme
MIROS did not announce whether the programme will become an annual evaluation or if it will become a mandatory test for all new dashcams. In the meantime, check out the list of the best dashcams in Malaysia below.
