New London bar lets you shoot clay pigeons while drinking cocktails and snacking on food by The Ritz' former chef
Fancy shooting some clay pigeons after work?
A new interactive clay pigeon shooting bar is opening up in the business district of London later this year. Clays is getting ready to open on the tiled streets of Canary Wharf, but don’t worry, no actual pigeons were harmed in the making of this venue.
After the success of the competitive socialising space in Moorgate, the indoor clay pigeon shooting bar will open its second venue so professionals can let off some steam after ten plus hours on the 23rd floor of One Canada Square. You can put together a team of up to 20 people for a 90-minute stint shooting virtual clay pigeons like they’re in the glorious British countryside.
Apparently their tech is so good, it can track “maximum precision down to the sub-millimetre” – so you’ll know if you’re a good shot or not. Clays will also be serving snacks invented by Roger Olsson, previously of The Ritz and The Dorchester, like their Field to Fork Flamed Celeriac with chimichurri and crispy onion, Sweetcorn Ribs with paprika salt, vegan chipotle mayonnaise and British calamari with squid ink mayo and chard lemon.
There’s also a small selection on their ‘Loaded Breads’ menu, a sharing plate of crispy dough bases packed full of flavours from around the world on top. Cocktails include ‘Sloegasm’, the aptly named ‘Double Barrel’ and ‘Shooting Jacket’.
Prices can range from £10 per person on Saturdays, to £30 for off-peak small groups (for a 60 minute session), £40 for off-peak for groups of between six and 20 people, and £50 for groups between six and 20 during peak times.
It’s thought the bar will open its doors in December this year. But for now, if you just can’t wait, you’ll find Clays at 55 Moorgate, London EC2R 6LL.
