A second location of seafood restaurant Fishmonger is opening in October at the Pratt Pullman District in Kirkwood.

Despite all of the uncertainties and financial upheaval brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years, plenty of Atlanta restaurant and bar owners and food and beverage entrepreneurs plan to open new establishments in 2022 and beyond.

Alpharetta

Delbar Middle Eastern is opening a third location in the former Traditions Indian Cuisine space.

Foundation Social Eatery opens in downtown Alpharetta this fall. And the new location will include a Parisian-style shop serving grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, charcuterie, and coffee drinks.

Sorella Vicina, an Italian restaurant and bar, is opening in October at the Hamilton Hotel on Milton Avenue.

Yumbii opens at the Atwater shopping center across from Avalon on Old Milton Parkway.

Atlanta

Sunshine Alchemy, a vegetarian and vegan food truck turned cafe, is opening on Presidential Parkway as part of the growing collection of Prep Atlanta incubator restaurants.

Avondale Estates

Common Roots Farmers Market, a 12,000-square-foot neighborhood grocery with a deli offering to-go food, an expansive outdoor seating area, and selling outdoor seasonal decor, opens this year.

Leftie Lee’s, a sandwich shop and bakery from Foodcation Forever chef and baker Vivian Lee, brings Korean-inspired baked goods and sandwiches to Olive and Pine in 2022.

Battery Atlanta

Battle and Brew, gaming bar and restaurant, is opening at the Battery Atlanta in Cobb County in 2023.

Cultivate Food and Coffee is opening below OrthoAtlanta at the Battery.

Beltline

Nourish + Bloom Market, a grocery store using artificial intelligence and delivery robots owned by Jamie and Jilea Hemmings, could open along the Beltline in the next year.

The Village Market, six shipping container storefronts to include a mix of retail and restaurants, will open two locations along the Eastside and Westside trails later this year. The new venture offers Black-owned businesses in Atlanta more visibility along the Beltline.

Berkeley Park

KPot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot opens at the Howell Mill Square shopping center in 2022.

A yet-named restaurant and bar from Kechia Matadin (Cirque Daiquiri Bar, Blu Seafood) should open in the former Flip Burger space.

Bolton

Corner Grille is opening on Marietta Boulevard in the former Westside Pizza space serving Cajun and Creole fare.

Brookhaven

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q opens a third location in the former Hudson FC International Sports Pub space at Brookhaven Station in 2023.

Buckhead

Botica opens this fall at Phipps Plaza in an expanded section of the luxury mall complex that will also include Nobu Hotel and a food hall.

Brush Sushi relocates from Decatur to Buckhead in summer 2023. Location TBD.

Carmel, a coastal cuisine-inspired restaurant and bar from Tal Baum, opens at Buckhead Village this year.

Cava, a Mediterranean restaurant chain, is opening 14 locations throughout metro Atlanta. The first opened in Buckhead on June 25.

Delbar Middle Eastern restaurant is planning to open in the Gentry apartment tower at Buckhead Village.

Chamblee

Chamblee Tap and Market opens in historic downtown Chamblee next year, featuring a taproom with 20 taps serving beer and wine, four food stalls, and a coffee shop.

Conyers

The Breakfast Boys opens a second location in the former Tin Plate space on Commercial Street this year.

Cumberland

KPot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot opens in the Cumberland Mall district.

Decatur

Breaker Breaker from the team behind Grindhouse Killer Burgers is opening at the redeveloped Stein Steel and Supply Co. plant along the Eastside Beltline trail this year.

El Malo (“The Bad Guy”), a rum bar backed by one of the restaurateurs behind Supremo Taco is opening at the Atlanta Dairies complex on Memorial Drive this fall.

Brash Coffee is opening at the Works in a space previously slated for all-day cafe Brash Kitchen serving coffee, espresso, and light bites.

Amar Bien was to open at the Westside Village complex on Marietta Boulevard. Those plans were scraped while owners Howard and Anita Hsu scout new locations for the restaurant.

Bocado closed March 27 on Howell Mill Road, but owner Brian Lewis could reopen the restaurant. Lewis rebranded Bocado Burger to Bocado in July.

Botanico Kitchen and Bar in Buckhead closed above Savi Provisions on Pharr Road, but plans to relocate the club-like Mexican restaurant and bar are already underway.

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, a 24-hour automat, will open five Atlanta-area locations.

Dear Friend Bagels, owned by Dale Donchey of Spiller Park Coffee, will open as a bagel shop and delicatessen in Atlanta. Donchey tells Eater he’s eyeing space in downtown Atlanta.

Flip Burger closed on Howell Mill, but owner Joseph Hsiao is currently seeking a new location for the restaurant in Midtown.

Graffiti Breakfast closed at Chattahoochee Food Works in early January and plans to reopen in a new Atlanta location.

Omakase by Yun, owned by chef Jonathan Yun, is relocating from Chirori Japanese restaurant on 14th Street in Midtown to a new, undisclosed location this year.
