There is so much flavor packed into this tiny sandwich!

I like recipes that will feed my family and could also be doubled or tripled to feed a crowd. In other words, I like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen!

If you are looking for another great recipe for a crowd – you have to try my Totchos! It’s tator tots + bacon + a sour cream/ranch dressing + cheese + green onions.

The reason these are so amazing is because it combines the delicious taste of steak, peppers and onions on a soft slider roll with melted, gooey Provolone cheese.

You can grab and slider bread.  It’s covered in butter and gets super soft and keeps that buttery flavor when you bake it in the over.

Another reason I love them is that with just a few ingredients it has so much flavor! And you can make it in about 40 minutes.

It’s also a great meal that bakes in the oven and I use that time to clean up the prep dishes so after dinner clean up is much easier!

What is a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich?

According to VisitPhilly.com it was invented in 1930 by Pat Olivieri, a hot dog vendor and namesake to Pat’s King of Steaks, threw beef on his grill to make a sandwich. A passing cab driver asked for one, too, and soon Olivieri had a following.

What kind of steak should I use for Philly Cheesesteak Sliders?

The meat traditionally used is thinly sliced rib-eye or top round, although other cuts of beef are also used. I used a 1 pound top round steak that was very affordable and was easy to slice into small pieces for this sandwich.

Can I make Philly Cheesesteak Sliders and not bake or serve them right away?

This is not a make-ahead meal. You want to have everything fresh. If you leave the meat and veggie mixture on the bread too long it could get soggy.

This sandwich is best when eater fresh out of the oven! The bread is soft and warm and the cheese is melting all over the meat and veggies.

We enjoyed these with some thin fries and it was perfect. My kids said they felt like they were eating in a fast-food restaurant.

What are the ingredients for a Philly Cheesesteak Slider?

This recipe uses Montreal Steak Seasoning. It’s a great mix of spices that tasted good in so many recipes. If you have never bought it – you will love it!

Here are some of my favorite recipes that use Montreal Steak Seasoning.

Besides the meat and rolls, I normally have all of these ingredients already in my house – so it’s an easy meal to make when I add slider rolls and top sirloin to my shopping list.

Philly Cheesesteak Slider Ingredients

  • 12 Slider rolls
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 pound steak, sliced in think stips – I used top sirloin
  • 1 green pepper diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3-6 slices Provolone cheese, cut in quarters (depends on how cheesy you want it!)
  • Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Tip for cutting the meat

Place steak in the freezer for 20-30 minutes to make the meat easier to slice. Remove the meat from the freezer and slice very thinly.
