The natural phenomenon of pink lakes
Although it looks like a scam, and we think the images are part of a large hoax performed online and made viable by image editing software, the pink lakes are real. This is even though it seems to be a fake. In addition, there was no one there to add any chemical substances to the water. Either bacteria or algae may have caused the strikingly pink tint that was seen, and both of these factors have been recognized as possible culprits.
Alga Dunaliella Salina
A type of algae known as Dunaliella Salina can flourish in situations with a significant amount of salt present. It does this by absorbing sunlight and converting it into its own kind of usable energy. This helps it to keep its own vigor. Because of the presence of red pigments, the water becomes a unique hue of pink as a consequence of this procedure.

Halobacteria
It has been hypothesized that the natural occurrence of pink lakes is caused by the presence of another kind of bacteria known as Halobacteria. This hypothesis is the second of two possible explanations for the phenomenon. They are a kind of bacterium that grows best in salty environments, and when they mature into a structure like a flower, they also color the water around them because the pigment in their bodies causes them to do so.

Even though these two hypotheses have been presented, the color of Lake Hillier, the first pink lake ever found, does not have a plausible explanation for its appearance. It was not seen for the first time until 1802 and is said to reside in the Recherche archipelago, located on the Middle Island of Australia. This was done in honor of an explorer who passed away from illness while participating in the voyage, and the name was chosen in his memory.

When one comes upon a lake that is an intense shade of pink, one can’t help but daydream of going for a swim in the lake’s waters.
