I needed a break to write and work alone, so I booked a condo in Tagaytay.
We all know that Tagaytay hotels and accommodation can be a little pricey because this is a major tourist destination, especially for those who wanted to have a quick getaway near Manila. If you’re tired of searching for expensive hotels, check out RedDoorz properties in Tagayatay.
RedDoorz is an Indonesian tech start-up that works with property owners to brand and market their properties to offer comfortable yet affordable accommodation for all. It is much like AirBnb, the difference is RedDoorz is more than just a booking platform, they actually manage the property, which is a big win for those who partner with them.
This start-up actually began when the founders realized the need for a place to stay and rest for those people who got stuck in traffic in Indonesia, or during bad weather. Just like in Metro Manila, you know how traffic can be really bad in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital.
Of course, hotels are not that much of an option because most are expensive. So they thought of a way to work with property owners to offer convenient yet cheap stay for the public. It was a hit in Indonesia, and they recently started to expand in other Asian countries like Singapore and Philippines.
So I saw this full condo for rent through RedDoorz. They actually have classifications like RedDoorz Basic, Plus and Premium depending on the property. So this one that I got in Cavite is RedDoorz Premium at Cityland Tagaytay Prime Residence located at the heart of the city, near the malls and restaurants. It’s a full condo overlooking the beautiful Tagaytay and Taal Lake. The best part is, it’s only less than a thousand pesos per night.
If you’re going to rent a condo direct to the property owner or via Airbnb, this type in Tagaytay costs about 2,500 to 3,000 pesos. So, I guess this is a good deal from RedDoorz.
The travel was like a breeze from Gentri, the place where I live, going to Tagaytay. In case you’re going in Aguinaldo Highway which will pass through Bacoor, Imus and Dasmarinas – look for any bus with a signboard of Tagaytay then the drop of point is Olivarez. It is a popular rotonda in Tagaytay beside Fora mall. Cityland Tagaytay condo is just a few meters walk from there.
Once I got to the building, the check in was easy because there is someone from RedDoorz who will assist you with the check in until you reach the condo. They just need some identification and then they will assist you all the way.
The RedDoorz Premium Cityland Condo Unit
It was a full condo complete with sala, dining table, TV, kitchen and there is a partition with the bedroom. It was homey and comfortable. The first time I saw it I couldn’t believe that I would be living there alone for 2 days. Total freedom and silence for me to write and do my work.
The style of the condo is very minimalist, which is something I like. If ever I would have my own condo, I would have something like this. A place where you only own the things that matters to you. No clutter and extra properties.
The bathroom was spotless clean and well-maintained. There are two doors in the bathroom because the shower area is divided from the toilet bowl area. Toiletries are complete, something that RedDoorz has promised to their customers. They have a nice RedDoorz branded kit with complete toiletries.
Did I mention that I also have my own refrigerator at the condo, cool right? I used it to store some beer that I bought from 711 just below the building and some food and snacks that I consumed during my entire stay. The kitchen is also complete with utensils, electric kettle for my coffee and clean water.
The sofa is comfy and looks sturdy. Well, it has to be strong to withstand my weight. Hahaha!
One thing that I also enjoyed during my stay is the cable TV. I was able to watch my favorite news from Channel News Asia, CNN and more. When I needed something to relax I watch Food Channels. But I had to resist myself from watching too much TV because I had work to do. I have articles to write.
Let’s talk about the room. Again, it was minimalist with not much decoration. Just a small table, cabinets and the spotless white linen. Of course, there is a branded cloth cover it looks good on the bed. White and red are good combination for beds, right?
I actually had a good night sleep. It was clean. It smelled good and comfortable. The bedroom also has a balcony overlooking the beautiful Cavite on the right and on the left is the stunning views of Tagaytay and Taal Lake.
I stayed there at the balcony many times just to enjoy the view and relax, but it can be very cold during the afternoon and at night. CHECK ROOM RATES HERE

The room has fast internet connection, perfect for someone like me who works online. I got some work done during my entire stay and I truly enjoyed staying at this condo unit for two days. This definitely gave me my needed “me” time and silence.
Sometimes, we also need to be in a strange place, to be alone and silent. It’s good for your mind and soul. If ever, I’ll be in Tagaytay, I wouldn’t think twice to book this unit again.

3 Tips to get the best deal
RedDoorz has 3 classifications – the Basic, Plus and Premium. Based on my experience to get the best out of your money, get the Premium property. I’ve tried other properties in RedDoorz like Basic etc. and I was a bit disappointed. It was literally just like a motel rebranded for RedDoorz, so imagine, it’s not a pleasant experience.
- Go for RedDoorz Premium
- Look for the entire condo property. Not just a room.
- Book with AGODA. Yes, I’m serious! I know booking it directly with RedDoorz gives you the best rates right? Yes, it’s a good deal but prices in Agoda with the same RedDoorz property is much cheaper. I don’t know what kind of sorcery Agoda does to make it so cheap. But this is true and legit. I’ve tried this myself. Like take this example. This particular RedDoorz Property in Tagaytay. When you book this directly with RedDoorz, this is Php 1,113 per night. While this same property, I got this for only Php 800 with Agoda! And when you book with Agoda, you can get a cashback called AgodaCash, just like a credit that you can use to your future Agoda bookings. Mas sulit. LOL!
