Royal Family: Prince William's surprisingly normal favourite dinner is a staple British delight

Despite having access to some of the tastiest treats on earth, Prince William’s favourite dinner is a basic British delight. Better yet, he doesn’t even have to lift a finger to have it – Kate Middleton cooks it for him, even after a long day meeting the public.

While The Princess of Wales prefers a far spicier delight, Will loves a roast chicken. In 2012, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair of the Duchess: “In the evenings she indulges her hobby of cooking William’s favourite supper, roast chicken.”

This would mean the future King will get his way fairly regularly as Sunday roasts are demolished weekly in households across the country. Although he loves a roast, the 40-year-old is also a sucker for a steak.

The next King adores roast chicken

Despite admitting he is “not very good” at cooking, he is happy to grill up a steak preferring it medium-rare. The family also like to spend time making pizza together, with Kate once saying: ‘I’ve done that with George and Charlotte – making pizza dough. They love it because they can get their hands messy.”

There is also a type of food Princess Charlotte can’t get enough of, that her dad hates. She’s a reported fan of spicy food and allegedly handles the heat much better than her father.

When Will and Kate visited Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, before their tour of Pakistan in 2019, the future queen spoke about how she loves to cook curry at home. She explained that she tones down the spice for their children Prince George and Prince Louis, before adding: “Charlotte is pretty good with heat.”

Meanwhile, the Duke of Cambridge has been candid about the fact that he prefers a mild dish, joking that he loves a good curry as long as it’s “not too spicy”.
