There’s hot news out of Thailand as a camouflaged 2023 (GN2) sedan, touted to be the facelift model, has been spotted there by readers of Headlightmag.

The timeline checks out, and so does the competition’s mounting pressure. The GN2-series City is pushing three years old since it debuted in November 2019, which means its around half the typical seven-year model lifecycle cars like this see.

The all-new D92A 2023 Toyota Vios

That, and there’s also the all-new 2023 (D92A, sold there as the Toyota Yaris Ativ) to contend with, which itself brings a whole list of features whilst being priced very near to the Honda.

The City uses a single-camera setup for its ADAS

It’s much too early to tell what’s new in the 2023 Honda City facelift, but the covered-up bumpers and side skirts indicate a visual rework. Speculation is rife that it’ll see its Honda Sensing ADAS suite further improved. Perhaps the addition of Low-Speed Follow (LSF) that it currently lacks?

The Thai source of this photo says that it’ll likely keep the same 1.0-litre turbo (only for the Thai market) and the 1.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid e:HEV powertrains, as expected of these mid-life refreshes.
