Sprint Highway exit to Jalan Maarof and Bangsar closed until March 2023, delays for RapidKL buses expected

Sprint Highway users should take note of road closures for the construction of a multi-level flyover near the Jalan Maarof entrance. The closure started last weekend and is expected to last until early March 2023.

Sprint Highway Communications Department head Shah Rizal Mohamad Fawzi told Bernama the closure will affect road users from Petaling Jaya using the right lane to Jalan Maarof towards Bangsar at the Maarof intersection.

Also affected are motorists from Petaling Jaya heading towards Kuala Lumpur via Pusat Bandar Damansara, which involves Jalan Johar, Jalan Beringin, and Jalan Semantan.

Road users are advised to take detours on the left via Jalan Johar – Jalan Beringin – Jalan Damanlela – Jalan Damansuria – Sprint headed to Petaling Jaya and then to the right to the new flyover in front of the Pavilion project.

The planned traffic diversion is expected to ease traffic congestion during peak hours for vehicles from Petaling Jaya or the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) to Kuala Lumpur from the Maarof intersection to the Semantan intersection.

Note that the closure might also affect RapidKL buses as it will cause a backlog of traffic will choke roads exiting the Semantan MRT station.

Road users are highly recommended to take the following alternative routes:

• Damansara Link-Damansara Puchong Highway (LDP) – Penchala Link – Jalan Duta – Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim – Jalan Kuching
• Damansara Link – Kerinchi Link – Jalan Duta – Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim – Jalan Kuching
• Damansara Link – Kerinchi Link – Federal Highway Route 2 (FHR2) – Jalan Syed Putra – Jalan Kinabalu
• Damansara Link – Jalan Dato Abu Bakar – Jalan Universiti – FHR2 – Jalan Syed Putra – Jalan Kinabalu
