Sunday Was Last Call for Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q served its last bags of Frito pies and batches of hickory-smoked wings at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during the Atlanta Falcons versus Carolina Panthers game on Sunday, closing all three of its stalls after five years there.

In a statement posted to social media, owners Justin and Jonathan Fox thanked their staff at the stadium as well as concessions company Levy Restaurants and Benz owner Arthur M. Blank for allowing Fox Bros. to serve as one of the anchor stalls over the last five years. No reason for the closure is provided in the post.

The Fox brothers first began slinging their popular smoked wings, bags of Frito pies, and Texas-style smokehouse sandwiches at the Georgia Dome nearly a decade ago, before moving into the new stadium in 2017. The barbecue restaurant included four stalls upon its opening at the Benz and was one of many local food options.

Prior to opening, stadium officials polled more than 4,000 Atlanta sports fans to determine what types of food and local restaurants they wanted at the stadium, which still includes stalls from Delia’s Chicken Sausage Stand, Farm Burger, Kevin Gillespie’s Gamechanger, and H&F Burger and Hop’s Chicken.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q continues to have a presence at Truist Park at the Battery Atlanta, home to Braves baseball. In addition to its original location on DeKalb Avenue, a location of Fox Bros. is now open at the Works complex in Underwood Hills, along with a barbecue kiosk dubbed the Que’osk inside a converted shipping container on Ottley Drive in Atlanta’s Armour neighborhood. A third, full-service location of the restaurant is slated to open next summer in Brookhaven.
