Sunny Side Café: Hearty Breakfast in Boracay
It was our day of island hopping around Boracay, and of course, we needed a place to have a full, hearty breakfast.
Good thing, Azalea team brought us to Sunny Side Café, one of the most popular cafés on the island serving all-day breakfast, coffee and pastries since 2014. Started by the couple, Nowie and Odette Potenciano, Sunny Side Café aims to offer the best breakfast for vacationers on the island whether local and foreign travelers.
Sunny Side Café offers different breakfast dishes from the all-time favorite Filipino breakfast to pastries with a twist.

I ordered their Kitayama Beef Tapsilog. I know that this is a popular dish among Filipinos and I can see you thinking that I should have ordered something different. But you can’t blame me, we were about to go on island hopping and I need my carbo-overload. Hahaha!

Kitayama Beef Tapsilog
I’ve already tried many tapsilog dishes but this one is the bomb! The beef is so tender and marinated to perfection paired with generous garlic rice, sunny side up eggs and some vegetable side dish. Now, this is the kind of breakfast that is surely suited for me – a big dude with big appetite. This café actually sourced their beef from wagyu farm in Bukidnon in Mindanao, supporting the local industry while serving a plate of goodness to its customers.
I actually had the chance to check out the orders and food of the group, like this Adobo bowl ordered by Bambam from Clickthecity.com. This one also looks good and yummy. Adobo comes with garlic rice, poached egg and sliced banana on the side. Just like my Tapsilog, this is also one heavy complete meal.

Aside from this popular Filipino breakfast, I heard my co-bloggers raving about the Ube Pancakes. It’s huge and looks delicious. This is a Filipino twist to the popular pancakes. I’ve seen in one TV interview of the owner, that Ube Pancake is one of the bestsellers especially among foreigners who want to try our very own ube , which is truly Filipino.
There are still many food to try at Sunny Side Café but I can only try a few for this breakfast. And one good thing, Sunny Side Café also serves a variety of coffee from the beans sourced from the EDSA Beverage Design Group.
What a great way to spend my morning sipping my latte coffee while looking at the beachfront view of the café.

Sunny Side Café is just located along with the white beach station 3 so anyone can enjoy the relaxing views of the beach while enjoying breakfast. The interior has this chic and minimalist design with touches of colors – white, yellow and gray – which is pleasing to the eyes.
It’s a total experience from good food to the beachfront views, that are only available at Sunny Side Café. With this kind of experience, I wouldn’t mind waking up early to have a hearty breakfast.
