We’re at Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon.
The CEO of password manager app 1password has told Tech & Science daily, going ‘passwordless’ is the future of security online.
We met up with Jeff Shiner at Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon, on the day the company announced it has acquired authentication company Passage.
It aims to replace letters and numbers with ultra-secure passkeys. Jeff said it will make the pain of forgotten passwords “a thing of the past”.
Also at Web Summit Daan Luining, the Co-founder of cultivated meat brand Meatable told Tech & Science Daily people are becoming more receptive to the idea of real meat grown in a lab.
He said the company has a new partnership with a firm in Singapore where their cultivated sausages will be produced, and told us the country will be the first to sell the product.

Mark Zuckerberg has revealed a new ‘communities’ feature for group chats on WhatsApp.
It’s aimed at neighbourhoods, workplace teams and school parents, and lets users send updates to everyone across all groups in one go, while still messaging within the individual groups.
It also lets users create polls among their friends.
Plus scientists have found monkeypox transmission can happen up to four days before any symptoms appear, and why a university in Scotland is getting ready for contact with aliens.
