Thirty-five years after Dirty Dancing was filmed, Kellerman’s is being brought back to life. Mountain Lake Lodge, the Virginia lodge where the iconic movie was filmed, has debuted Kellerman’s Gift Shop. It’s the first brick-and-mortar store for official Dirty Dancing merchandise.
“The hottest seller in Kellerman’s Gift Shop is the ringer tee, just like Johnny’s cousin Billy wore in the movie,” says Jeremiah McKendree, vice president of retail and recreation at the lodge. “The merchandise is exciting and shoppers are intrigued with the store’s design which is fashioned after the well-known studio where Baby learned to dance.”
Dirty Dancing Merchandise
The new Kellerman’s Gift Shop pays tribute to the movie’s renowned dance studio, with nods around the store, including the decor, lighting, a replica of Baby’s dance shoes, and a “Don’t Step On The One!” sign.
It carries a collection of official Dirty Dancing merchandise, from zip up sweatshirts to a T-shirt with the classic line, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” There are also mugs that say “I carried a watermelon,” holiday ornaments, key chains, and koozies. There is even a T-shirt showing the stages of the famous “lift” at the end of Baby and Johnny’s routine.
Experience Kellerman’s
Dirty Dancing aficionados can transport themselves back to Kellerman’s with the resort’s popular Dirty Dancing Weekends throughout the year or the Kellerman’s Film Package with any 2-night stay.
The Kellerman’s Film Package includes a welcome cocktail in a souvenir Kellerman’s glass, an exclusive gift bag with a Kellerman’s beach towel, a special screening of the movie, a Dirty Dancing-themed scavenger hunt, and a $200 dining credit.
