The Lidl, Tesco and Asda products being urgently recalled for safety reasons including metal found in food item
Lidl is recalling sushi boxes due to allergen fears while Tesco is recalling some protein products as they could contain metal
Lidl, Tesco and Asda have all had to recall products recently over safety concerns. The major supermarket chains have all stocked products that have been flagged by the Food Standards Agency over various safety risks.
Lidl reported on Thursday (October, 6) that they are recalling their ‘Select and Go Sushi Box, Salmon and Shrimp’ because the product contains allergens that are not emphasised on the label. The sushi box contains crustaceans, fish, mustard, sesame, soya, egg, wheat (gluten), milk, and sulphites.
Food company John West has recalled its John West On The Go Indian Tuna Rice Salad, which is sold in all major supermarkets. The product contains soya and wheat (gluten), which are not mentioned on the label, creating a potential health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya and/or coeliac disease, an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten. This is reportedly only an issue with products sold at Asda.
Tesco is recalling Tesco Active Strawberry Flavoured Whey Protein and Tesco Active Chocolate Fudge Flavoured Whey Protein because they may contain small pieces of metal, making them unsafe to eat. The issue is with 500g packs with the batch code 1049765 13 and a best before date of May 31, 2024.
A production fault has also led to PASCO food recalling their Delhi Tikka Masala cooking sauce and Rajestani Jalfrezi cooking sauce from all suppliers. It has been reported that a production fault has shortened the shelf life of these products, making them unsafe to eat. All these items can be returned to thee store from which they were bought for a full refund. They should not be eaten.
