The London Halloween event in a terrifying basement 'so scary' you have to sign a waiver

A London Halloween event is ‘so scary’ this year you’ll have to sign a waiver to take part. Kraken’s annual Screamfest experience will this year take place in a ‘terrifying’ basement in London.

For this year’s Screamfest event, Kraken Rum have created a special ‘game’ that’s just for those aged 18 and over. In order to access the new pop-up bar, guests will need to play hide and seek.

But this isn’t just any old version of the game, it’s a ‘nail-biting, nightmarish’ version. You’ll have to hide throughout the immersive experience for 20 minutes before the doors to the bar open.

You’ll have to hide from the ‘seekers’

Screamfest VI: ‘Here We Come’ is labelled as disturbing, twisted and terrifying 18+ immersive experience that’s so intense and physical you need to a sign a waiver to participate in. During the 20 minutes of play, you’ll need to find places to hide from the ‘seekers’, a masked cult that worship ‘The Beast’ – and it’s definitely not the one from The Chase.

Within the dilapidated basement venue at The Ditch in Shoreditch Town Hall, hiders have to contort themselves into a range of unpleasant and claustrophobic spaces to avoid the cult. Throughout the game, you’ll be able to collect rewardables to redeem for extras in the bar. Once those 20 minutes are up, the doors to the bar will open – but if you’re found at some point, you’ll be locked in the basement until the time is over.

In the Kraken bar, you’ll be able to sip on a range of original Halloween rum cocktails while playing a number of special arcade games within the horror-decked space. And for those unable to attend, but still for some reason wanting to be terrified, there will be an online version created to mirror the experience.

The Kraken Rum’s Screamfest VI: Here We Come experience takes place across three nights at The Ditch, Shoreditch Town Hall in the lead up to Halloween on October 27-29 from 7pm to 11pm. Tickets are priced at £10 and include a welcome drink and cocktail token, you can book tickets here.
