With all the pressure put on Hollywood stars to look young, many celebrities turn to plastic surgery to rejuvenate themselves. Sometimes the results are fantastic, other times not so much. Here are stars who wish they hadn’t gone under the knife.
The actress who appeared alongside Pierce Brosnan in The World Is Not Enough told Us Weekly that her decision to go under the knife at just 19 years old had been made too quickly. Her breast augmentation was too big, and the actress had to have several more surgeries before she was happy enough to strip down for Playboy in 2004.
In 2006, the singer, businesswoman, and actress confided to Glamour that she had injections of collagen—a gel used by plastic surgeons to plump up the lips. The effects only lasted four months. “Thank God!” said Simpson. “It looked fake to me.”
A doctor’s poor suggestion left a bitter taste in Body of Proof star Dana Delany’s mouth. Along with causing a hematoma, the syringe used for a Botox injection in her forehead damaged a nerve, which has caused her right eye to droop. Since then, she told Prevention magazine, as reported by People, she has steered clear of scalpels.
Known for playing the iconic role of Baby in the cult classic Dirty Dancing, Grey disappeared into total anonymity after she decided to get a nose job because she didn’t like the one she had been born with, as reported by the Mirror. Unfortunately, no one recognized her, and her career came to an end.
Don’t expect the newest goddess of well-being to tout the benefits of Botox. She claims to have had just one injection and hated the experience, going as far as to compare herself to Joan Rivers, the late comedian of a thousand surgeries.
Although she has had many plastic surgery procedures, the actress has always been silent on the subject, except on Good Morning America, where she discussed regretting the breast implants she got in her early 20s. The operation affected her milk production and she was unable to fully breastfeed her children.

During an interview with the magazine More, the actress who stars in the next Halloween movie revealed that she has had several plastic surgeries, including liposuction and Botox. “None of it works. None of it,” she said, adding that it’s more important to focus on your personality and self-acceptance if you want to be happy in your own skin.
Rarely have we seen a public personality be so open about the subject of plastic surgery than the former star of the reality series The Hills. After announcing that she had had more than 10 procedures in a single day—including a chin implant, fat injections in her cheeks, and a nose job—the blonde, who was trying to look like Barbie, has many regrets. The incredible pain that she went through wasn’t worth it. Plus, she had to once again go under the knife to reduce the size of her breasts, which she had enlarged to a G-cup.
It doesn’t take a genius to see that the sweet face of the Cougar Town star is quite different than it was during the Friends era. She confessed last year to New Beauty that, at one point, she was struggling to recognize herself, as she had made so many changes with various filler injections. She now claims that everything that had been injected under her skin has dissolved and that she tries to look more natural.
In her autobiography, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin, the red-headed comedian describes all the surgeries she underwent trying to calm her insecurities about her physical appearance. She talks about the liposuction procedure in the ’90s when she thought she was dying on the operating table. Although she continues to change her appearance with the passing years, she tries to make it clear to women that the surgeries are extremely painful and are not always the solution.
The A-lister still denies having modified her appearance but admitted to the Italian magazine La Repubblica that she tried Botox once. She bitterly regretted it when she found she couldn’t move her face. She claims the only product she uses now is sunscreen.
Constantly under the obsessive gaze of her fans and the media, the starlet has never admitted to resorting to plastic surgery, except once. On her website, kimkardashianwest.com, she said that she had the baby hairs on her forehead removed by laser. Although she said it was useful because the photographers would always photoshop them out, she regrets getting rid of them because they made her look younger.
Even though the reality-TV star’s lips tend to get all the attention, Lisa Rinna has a love-hate relationship with them. On the Today Show in 2013, she explained that she had her lips enlarged on a whim when she was 25. She later had to undergo a reduction, as her lips became disgustingly hard and droopy. She wouldn’t hesitate to do it all again though, as she knows her lips are what made her career.
Often cited among surgery fails, the case of the American Pie actress is certainly one to keep in mind before going under the knife. An oversized breast augmentation and an unnecessary abdominal reconstruction left her body bruised and scarred forever. In an interview with Us Weekly, Reid admitted she lost a lot of work because of these tragic modifications.
She may be famous for her physical attributes, but Carmen Electra is still bitter about the breast implants she had when she was younger. Grateful that she didn’t have to wear a push-up bra anymore, she told Fabulous magazine: “I think I was fine the way I was. I had nice breasts before—though they were small.”
The English actress blindly trusted her ex-boyfriend, a plastic surgeon, when it came to cosmetic surgery. A simple Botox injection in her lip after the removal of a cyst turned into many Botox procedures, a nose job, and breast implants that she regrets.
While trying to cope with the harsh demands of the acting world, the Little House on the Prairie actress had several plastic surgeries. In 2018, she told First for Women magazine that she had her breast implants removed, no longer uses Botox, and now aims to lead a healthy and simple lifestyle.
After struggling with acne for many years, the actress finally feels good in her own skin, as confirmed in her wellness book, The Body Book. In an interview with ET, she admitted to having used Botox, but hated the strange results and now lives a filler-free life.
Once considered a sex symbol, the actor’s face was ravaged by years of professional boxing. In 2009, he confessed to the Daily Mail that he trusted the wrong doctor to repair his facial wounds and was left with a very different look than the one seen in 9½ Weeks in the ’80s.
