These Trick-Or-Treating Bags Make Recycling Your Candy Wrappers So Easy
According to a survey from the National Confectioners Association, 75 percent of people plan to celebrate Halloween this year, and among those people, 93 percent of them plan to with lots of chocolate and candy. While it’s great to hear that people are eager to enjoy Halloween, that makes for a whole lot of empty candy wrappers.
Fortunately, candy behemoth Mars has partnered with Rubicon Technologies, Inc., a leading digital waste and recycling solutions provider, on a unique solution to the not-so-sweet candy wrapper dilemma. They’ve joined Rubicon’s existing Trick or Trash campaign to give away recyclable, trick-or-treating bags.
Here’s how the bags work: To recycle your empty candy wrappers, simply place them in the trick-or-treating bags and use the prepaid postage stamp to mail the bag and its contents off to be recycled.
“Mars, and our iconic line-up of brands, put the consumer at the heart of all we do, especially during our biggest moments like Halloween…This year, our Halloween leadership highlights Mars’ commitment to a healthy planet by providing a simple way to minimize packaging waste with the Mars and Rubicon Trick or Trash bags,” said Tim LeBel, Chief Halloween Officer and President of Sales at Mars Wrigley, in a statement.
