Toyota has announced many changes in its 2023 lineup, including a 4Runner with retro styling and a new engine for the Highlander. But perhaps the most appealing update is the special edition of the Gazoo Racing 86 (GR86) model to commemorate its 10th anniversary. What does the 2023 Toyota GR86 10th Anniversary Special Edition offer?

The standard 2023 Toyota GR86 has a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. That’s an improvement over previous models because the new GR86 can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds with the manual stick. Before, it took 7 seconds. The automatic provides a 6.6-second acceleration time.
As for the transmission, you can choose a standard six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic (for $1,500 extra). With the manual, you’ll get 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Upgrading to the automatic brings 21/31 mpg city/highway.
In addition, the 2023 Toyota GR86 has rear-wheel drive, a multi-link rear suspension system, and a limited-slip rear differential. You’ll get three driving modes with the automatic transmission. The system automatically selects normal, snow, or sport mode based on the car’s behavior.

As the name suggests, the 2023 Toyota GR86 10th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates the model’s decade in the lineup. Built on the Premium trim (more about that later), the limited-edition anniversary model comes in an exclusive Solar Shift orange exterior color.
It also sports 18-inch matte black wheels with black lug nuts and center caps. In addition, a cat-black performance exhaust system has chrome piping topped with black chrome tips. Adorning it is a recessed GR logo. On the car’s rear is a black duckbill-style spoiler matching a black GR graphic on the C-pillar.
Inside the cabin, you’ll see Ultrasuede and leather materials decorated with Solar Shift stitching, orange trim accenting the seats, and an embroidered “10th Anniversary” logo on the door panels.
Furthermore, each GR86 10th Anniversary Special Edition example will bear a commemorative plaque indicating the production number in the series. According to the automaker, only 860 units will roll off the production line.
Toyota has yet to release the price, but experts predict it will hover around the mid-$30,000s.
Expect the 10th Anniversary Special Edition to be available for purchase this fall.
Toyota GR86 trim levels
Toyota has priced its two-strong 2023 GR86 sports-car range up to $11,000 higher than the outgoing model – and dearer than the Subaru BRZ in base form, even though the cheapest Toyota offers fewer features.https://t.co/SPzbDmxTQ9

The Toyota GR86 comes in two trim levels: the base model and the Premium. The entry-level trim has 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels and an anti-theft system with an engine immobilizer.
Moving into the interior, you’ll find a dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Toyota’s safety suite also comes standard. Expect to pay around $27,900 for the standard 2023 GR86.
Upgrading to the Premium provides six-way adjustable front seats with a two-level heating system. You also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift boot, and parking brake handle. This trim runs about $30,500.
The 2023 Toyota GR86 10th Anniversary Special Edition will likely go fast thanks to its eye-catching color and other unique features that make it look and sound like a high-performance sports car.
