Which Suzuki Dzire trim holds its value better?

In 2014, the Suzuki Dzire arrived on local shores. The Dzire, which shares its platform with the popular Swift model, provides some additional practicality with a larger boot. Current iterations of the Dzire offer up to 378 litres of luggage space and a spacious cabin for five occupants. But for this article, we will be focussing on the 2018/2019 year models in the three trims, GA, GL and GL auto, to find out which holds its value better.
The 2018 Suzuki range is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine capable of 61 kW and 113 Nm of torque. Whether customers opt for the manual transmission in the GA and GL derivatives, there are five gears. The GL auto trim also has 5 speeds, however, in an automated manual configuration. The Suzuki Dzire in GA trim is the entry point to the range and although it retains many of the standard safety features offered by the GL guise, it does omit a variety of creature comforts. However, that does not make it any less capable as a daily commuter or an affordable sedan for the family.

2019 Suzuki Dzire GL
The Suzuki Dzire in GL trim is the next tier up and sees the addition of a radio with CD player, Bluetooth, multifunction steering wheel and electric windows amongst others. The GL trim can be had with either a manual or automated manual transmission. For this example, we are focussing on the manual derivative.

2019 Suzuki Dzire GL Auto
The only difference between the GL and GL Auto trims is the gearboxes. Where the standard GL offers a 5-speed manual gearbox, the GL Auto, as the name implies, provides customers with a 5-speed automated manual transmission. This of course takes some of the strain off the driver in traffic.

Verdict
As can be seen from the percentages provided, the GA trim holds its value the best. But what is very impressive is that all three derivatives managed to keep more than 90% of their original values.
